The 8-day movement, with its finely engraved backplate, strikes hours on a bell, repeating at will and it retains its original verge escapement. The dial is lovely, with "Strike/Silent" in the arch; date aperture; mock pendulum and original blued steel hands. 15.5ins (39cms) high (exc handle).
