Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The central rectangular drawer flanked by four graduating mahogany lined drawers to each pedestal with brass moulded edges, string brass inlay and faceted brass handles. Having solid mahogany sides and back, the whole raised on six turned and reeded supports with brass castors, stamped to the drawer by the makers. English circa 1890-1900

Generally thought of as both retailers and cabinet makers, they specialised in brass-inlaid and marquetry furniture and retailed French 18th century style furniture by makers such as Mellier.
