Description

A 19th Century Bronze Figure of Ariadne On The Panther.

The classically drawn maiden, her hair tied with a laurel band and ribbon, clasping a drape, whe siton on a panther, wearing a large collar. The panther looking to his side and forward, whilst Ariadne looks to her left. The whole on a rectangular base, and marble plinth with a concave moulded edge. The bronze impressed 'Dannecker' after the original marble now in the Liebieghaus, Frankfurt.

Height 7 1/2 inches, width 6 1/4 inches, depth 3 1/4 inches.

Date c 1840.
