Exquisite Antique English Sterling Silver Box by Deakin and Francis

Description

A truly magnificent pill box / trinket box, with a central figural hand-paiinted panel framed in a guilloche enamel border. Lovely quality to be expected from the famous maker of Deakin and Francis; Founded in 1786, Deakin & Francis is today, seven generations later, still owned and managed by the Deakin family (James, Henry and David Deakin).

The hinged lid opens to reveal a gilded interior and a mirror inside the lid. The underside is where the full English hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1900, late Victorian in era. Superb undamged condition, measuring 1 5/8" in diameter x 7/8" high.
