The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed A.W.W.Co. Sterling Waltham, Mass and it has the serial number 1411532 which dates it back to 1879.

The watch measures 54 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The silver case stamped American Waltham, Mass, Warantted Sterling Silver and numbered WW187. The case has light surface marks from use and some mild denting to the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1870s piece. The inner case back has initials lightly scratched on it
The watch lens is plastic and is in nice condition.
The dial has faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable.
The watch has blued steel hands.
