The arched top beautifully engraved with swags, cornucopia and a fruit basket and having an applied silvered control dial offering " Silent", "Hours Only", "Hours and Quarters", "First Change on Bells", and "Second Change on Bells". The dial retains the original pointers and spandrels with wheat ear engraving to the dial edge and signature of Jams. Reith, London.

The case constructed from fine figured mahogany and having an arched hood with a panel of fretwork and flanked by tapered and brass mounted columns with 3 ball and spire finials. The trunk having a long beautifully figured mahogany door with moulded edge and brass mounted and reeded quarter columns and working lock and keys. The base having applied mouldings with quarter corner quadrant returns and the whole standing on a double plinth base with corner feet. Size.. Max.Height...98.75''/ 251cm.
