Description

Attractive landscape by the Belgium artist Joseph Courtoy (1894-1955) - School of Artists Ardennais. The painting is in a fauvist style and dates from around 1930-1945.

Courtoy was a painter of landscapes and villages of the Ardennes. He participated in the 'Salon de Centenaire of the Societe Royale of Beaux-Arts Liege' in 1933 and the first exhibition of Artists Wallons at the Palais des des Beaux-Arts Brussels. in 1941.

The panel is mounted in an old frame and is inscribed on the rear. Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.
