A Japanese Meiji Period Carved Shodana

1900 - 1920
Description

A Japanese Meiji Period carved shodana with gold lacquer on-laid panels. Having a typical Oriental carved cornice above the cabinet section, featuring an arrangement of sliding doors, cupboards and drawers, each with gold lacquer panels and on-laid bone and mother of pearl inlaid detail. With carved and pierced fretwork sides, the whole supported on a shaped base. Japan circa 1900

Dimensions: 66" high x 39" wide x 13" deep

Condition: This cabinet is in excellent original condition, minor rubbing to the gold lacquer.
