A Burr Walnut Inlaid & Ormolu Mounted Victorian Period Antique Credenza

Description

A burr walnut inlaid & ormolu mounted Victorian Period antique credenza. The shaped top veneered in richly figured burr walnut above a boxwood and purple heart inlaid frieze with applied ormolu mounts. The central rectangular panelled door having a sevres style hand painted porcelain plaque depicting a romantic couple within a woodland setting, housed in a ribbon and swag cast ormolu frame. The door opens to reveal a newly lined pale blue watermarked silk shelved interior, flanked by marquetry inlaid pilasters with floral ormolu mounts. The D shaped glazed ends also enclosing re-lined silk corner shelving. The whole supported on an ormolu mounted shaped burr walnut plinth. English in the French taste Circa 1870-1880

Dimensions: 55" wide x 15" deep x 39" high

Condition: This credenza is in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. Newly re-lined interior.
