An Antique Waltham P S Bartlett Grade Pocket Watch

An antique Waltham P S Bartlett grade pocket watch.

The watch has a P S Bartlett grade movement which has been fully tested and is working well. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. The movement is fully signed and has the serial number 22259946 which dates it back to 1919.

The watch measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case has a screw on front and back. The case is gold filled and was made by the English based case maker Aaron Dennison and was originally guaranteed to wear 20 years. The case is in good condition with only light surface marks from use.

The watch glass is in beautiful condition.

The dial has a signed white enamel dial. The dial has a short faint hairline crack to the outer edge between 7 & 8 O'clock but it is barely noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
