Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The lamp measures 55cm in height from the light switch to the base; the base is 23cm in diameter, and the spread of the bird's wings is 38cm across.
The light has been completely rewired by a qualified electrician to UK specifications.
The gilding is all original and shows signs of wear in places with the tinges of red coming through, but we feel this only enhances the look of lamp. The bird, plinth and lamp generally is in excellent condition with the details of the wings and beak crisp and clear.
We know the light was originally sold in an antique shop in London around the 1950's as it came with the shop ticket attached.
