April 1794). Sensitively painted, the lady’s face being particularly well done, unfortunately the artist is unrecorded. Interesting Regency costume detail here – note the lady’s close fitting lace bonnet and high waisted dress with pearl brooch and a gold chatelaine on a chord, whilst her husband wears the classic high collar to his jacket and white silk neck scarf. Excellent condition, recently relaid onto canvas, presented unframed on wooden stretchers.
