WelshAntiques has dated this Antique Welsh Stick Chair to the 18th Century.
Such pieces were probably rare in their day and few have survived.
The shaped seat is an unusual feature.

There have been a few losses over the years, particularly the footrest and stretchers, but we do not think that they should be restored. At some point, the backrest possibly continued upwards to a comb, but the close-up of the top of the spindles shows that any removal took place generations ago.
