Antique Waltham Hunter Pocket Watch, 1918

An antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch with decorative case.

The watch has a stem-winding movement with damascene finish and a star wheel regulator, also known as a Church regulator (named after D H Church, sometimes referred to as "?the most important technical contributor to the success of Waltham"). The movement is signed and it has the serial number 21,908,227 which dates it back to 1918. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover, it has some scratching.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. The case is nicely detailed to both the front and the back, with initials added to the front. It is in good condition with just the odd minor mark.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. The lens is in lovely condition, as is the signed white enamel dial with blued steel Breguet-style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
