Description

A stunning quality mahogany Late Victorian Period bookcase by Edwards & Roberts of London. The upper section with a broken swan neck pediment having inlaid paterae and urn inlaid frieze, above twin astragal glazed doors with sycamore and ebony glazing bars, which opens to reveal a silk lined back and two mahogany shelves. The lower section of bow front outline having a fine marquetry and pen-work inlaid panel to the mahogany top, above two mahogany lined drawers with ribbon and harebell detail. The lower doors with exquisite marquetry panels depicting the arts within ribbon and foliate marquetry detail. Having solid mahogany sides and plinth and cross banded in rosewood throughout. Undoubtedly made by Edwards & Roberts of London and bearing the retailers label of S.H Jewell. England circa 1890-1900

Dimensions: 81" high x 18" deep x 30" wide

Condition: This bookcase is in superb condition
