Victorian Silver Double Stamp Box 1901

19th century
Description

A beautiful example of a Victorian sterling SILVER DOUBLE POSTAGE STAMP BOX with original Victorian stamps under glass on the lid. The lid is sprung and snaps shut when released. The interior has two gilded compartments to store and easily retrieve stamps, the interior of the lid is covered in black leather (not original) and the beautifully shaped box stands on four silver ball feet. Made in 1901 by the renowned silversmiths of Levi & Salaman, this is a lovely example and would add to any collection.
