A Charming Victorian Silver Plated Afternoon Tea Duo, with Hallmarked Silver Ferrules

Description

A charming boxed silver set for afternoon tea. This delightful duo, comprises a butter knife and preserve spoon in silver plate with hallmarked silver ferrules.

It is most unusual to find these sets, still complete and in the original box. The spoon has a beaded shank and the blades have acanthus engraving. A lovely set both decorative and practical.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents, splits or plate loss. The box is good and there is one small black mark to the reverse of the spoon, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Clear, matching and readable.

Maker :- J H Potter.

Date :- Sheffield 1897.

Preserve spoon :- 19.5 cms.
