In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
He is in excellent condition due to the protection the dome has given him over the years. He has a thick covering of fur and his original whiskers and claws. The colour of the fur has faded slightly with age.
He comes under the original Victorian hand-blown glass dome which sits on an ebonised base. The dome has the usual natural imperfections but is undamaged and the wooden base has a rich aged patina.
