In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The top is inset with dark leather with an inset tooled edge. It sits on castors so is easy to move about and it splits into 3 parts to make transport convenient.
The desk is in excellent condition and has been well looked after. It has a lovely rich patina and the drawers run well. Some of the plate handles are slightly damaged and have small parts of the fretwork missing but it doesn't affect the overall look of the desk. There are normal signs of wear and tear as is to be expected with a piece of such an age but there is no particular damage to note.
