A stunning 19th century Portrait of a lady standing in a landscape wearing a white satin dress
and holding a posy of flowers. This painting is outstanding , housed in what is almost certainly its orignal gilt frame . Large and imposing also quite heavy (strong wall required !!)
Purchased from a country house sale. An old restoration label is present to the rear of the painting which states address as '' Brantinghamthorpe''
and a name Maxsted. Research shows The ''Maxsted''s'' were once the owners of Brantinghamthorpe hall.
.This oil on canvas is very much in the manner of One of the finest portrait painters of the 17th/18th century, Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723).
The portrait is in excellent condition ready to hang
The overall size being 136cm x 162cm high ( 53 x 63 inches approx)
whilst the painting is 100cm by 125.5cm high (39.5 x 49 inches high approx) depth 12cm (approx 4.5 inches)
