George IV Gillows Pollard Oak Davenport

Description

A fine Pollard Oak Davenport by renowned makes Gillows of Lancaster. The Davenport having an arrangement of 4 graduated drawers and 2 pull out writing slides. The fall front having inset tooled and gilded leather of which lifts up to reveal a storage well and 4 small drawers, 2 dummy and 2 working drawers. There is a concealed pen drawer to the side complete with a small pen tray and 2 Ink bottles. Having a panelled front and back, with dummy drawers to the left side. The whole raised on squat bun feet with the original inset brass castors. Superb colour and graining throughout the highly figured timber. English, Circa 1825
