by Fritz Marti.
~ French - Circa 1900 ~
~~ Excellent condition, full overhauled and working ~~
It features a beautiful large enamel dial with fine blued steel hands. To the sides are red velvet backed sound frets, finely detailed, to enable the sonorous gong strike to be fully appreciated. The caddy top is draped with floral swags.

The French movement by Fritz Marti and is of the highest quality. It is the large plate version of the Pendule de Paris movement and has the superior rack striking and pin-pallet escapement. It is complete with it's original pendulum. We have dismantled the movement, fully cleaned and overhauled it, fitted two new springs and test it thoroughly until satisfied that it runs perfectly. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and half-hours on a sonorous coiled gong. You can watch the clock running in the video clip below.

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear and very light surface marks/scratches. The dial has some slight chipping around the winding holes and Brocot shaft and some hairlines / cracking at the 4 and 12 o'clock positions. We have replaced the old red velvet with new (we can change the colour of the velvet to suit your decor if you wish)

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
