A large and stunning brass clock by A. D. Mougin. It is Rococo in style featuring bold, asymmetric, sweeping 'C' scrolls, acanthus leaves and surmounted by a boat shaped finial with flaming torché. When running, the pendulum can be seen swinging inside the case from the of the clock. This is a particularly large and heavy clock, sharply modelled with deep exuberant curves.

The dial is heavily cast brass, mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches. It is complete with original blued steel hands.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and has the mark on the movement backplate. It is of this makers usual high quality and is the large plate version of the Pendule de Paris design with the superior rack striking. We have fully stripped, cleaned and restored the movement, fitted 2 new springs and thoroughly tested it. It has the original pendulum numbered # 17 to match the movement. you can see the movement running in the video clip below.

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the high spots. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
