London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A fine pair of provincial hall chairs identified by the pair of characteristic crescent shaped cross splats that are pierced and relief carved with stylistic scrolls and swirls, further embellished with acorn drop finials.
The solid, plank seat panel sits upon a plain apron with baluster turned legs united by twin box stretchers and a turned fore stretcher.

The oak displays good, consistent colour and grain interest beneath a dark waxed finish.
