Antique Pine Toy Box C.1890

Description

Here we have a 19th Century toy box that dates from 1890 in excellent condition for its age.

Carrying handles on both sides of the chest and a small brass knob on the lid. Inside the box is the original candle box, typical of chests from this period.

We think it may have originally been used to store linen and blankets but since then was used as a toy box due to its slightly smaller then average size. These boxes also make ideal shoe storage in a hallway.

It has recently been stripped to the bare wood so can either be wax polished or painted. The price includes our professional wax polishing service.
