An Antique Swiss Silver Chronograph Pocket Watch

An antique Swiss silver chronograph pocket watch.

The chronograph has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The chronograph feature is operated by pressing the winding crown once to start, again to stop and then again to re-set to zero. There are two subsidiary dials, one to record up to 30 minutes and the other for constant seconds. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 935 silver, slightly purer than the standard 925 sterling silver, and there are Swiss silver marks inside both of the case backs. There is also a maker’s mark for the Swiss company Kramer & Moser, they were case makers and finishers and this particular mark was registered 1902. The front of the case is in good order… the case back has some unevenness.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition. It has blued steel hands which are initially pin set, a little stiff to start with but soon eases.
