The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch as a stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed and it has the serial number 9,415,772 which dates it back to 1899.

The watch itself measures 55mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The ornate case is beautifully decorated on both the front and the back. The front has the initials SG within the cartouche and the back has the image of a church next to a bridge.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a watch glass which is in good condition, over a signed white enamel dial… there are two or three faint hairline cracks. The hands are lever set… the lever is inset into the bezel next to the number V.
