Large Early Victorian Mahogany Three Tier Buffet

19th century
Description

An early Victorian Mahogany Buffet / Dumb Waiter of Country House Proportions, circa 1840, the three tiers with low gallery back and fitted with two drawers on the lower tier, with lobed and turned supports and raised on brass cups and castors.

Condition: In original, unrestored condition. It has obviously seen a lot of life, but is of good, even colour with the exception of a large circular watermark to the left hand side of the top, there are numerous scratches, the handles to the drawers are 1920's replacements and there is a small section of the corner of the gallery back missing on the right hand side. The buffet could be re-polished which would eradicate much of the scratching, however, personally, I'd prefer to keep it in its 'honest' condition.
