A very good quality mid/late 19th century IVORY CHESS SET almost certainly by Jaques of London.

Of substantial size and in absolutely immaculate condition, the quality of this set is superb. The Kings measure 4.75ins high, the bases are 1.75ins diameter. Complete with baize-lined mahogany box and original booklet: "The Chess Players Text Book" by H. Staunton, and published by Jaques & Son, 102, Hatton Garden, LONDON.
