Description

A good mid/late 19th century Boxwood and Ebony CHESS SET of Staunton design, by Jaques of London.

Complete with its original baize-lined mahogany box and label to the sliding lid, the full set of 32 pieces is in excellent original condition with baize to the bases of every piece. The Kings, both of which are stamped: "JAQUES LONDON" around the bases, measure 3.25ins (8.25cms) high.
