16th Century Gothic Carved Oak Single Bed

This Gothic Style Panelled Oak bed has an exquisitely carved headboard, the sides and foot board have been replaced and we have added a new slatted base to bring the bed into a useful new life

This interesting old bed has been made from a piece of very early carving, the head board may have originated from a marriage or dower chest, as there are initials inlaid in the top rail.

The foot board of the bed has turned posts at each side and the sides are made of old wood but not as old as the headboard, this is a sound and very usable piece only the head board dates from the 16th Century

The bed head is 44” high, and it is 45” wide and takes standard 3ft6” mattress
