Original Neopolitan Oil on Canvas Signed Ettore Ferrante

Description

Beautiful oil on board of a fishing scene in the Bay of Naples. A wonderful composition, full of life, light and colour. In its original giltwood oval frame carved with fruiting figs and leaves to the outer border.

Born in Naples in 1945, Ettore Ferrante emigrated to South America where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Caracas. He developed a refined and sensitive style and deeply studied the works of the great Neopolitan artists Gigante and Carelli.

He returned to Italy to continue his studies and is a leading figure in the Neapolitan school. Now aged 71, he still lives and works in Italy.

A beautiful painting by a highly respected artist, both painting and the frame in excellent original condition.
