Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Both ends are the same height with a rounded top rail and large shaped feet, there is a carved scalloped shape to the front, the other side is flat as the bed was made stand against a wall, the front of the bed is inlaid in many woods in chevron pattern a design much favoured by French Craftsmen
This is a very attractive piece, it will take a deep mattress and it comes supplied with a new wooden slatted base
The bed ends are 45” high and 48” wide. The drop in size of the bed is 72” long, 3ft 6” wide it will take a standard 3ft6” mattress, it comes into 5 pieces for ease of transportation
