Description

Antique Goliath eight day pocket watch from Amédèe Douard

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well and keeping good time to within around five minutes over a week. The movement has a brevet, or patent, number which refers to an 1893 patent by Amédèe Douard on behalf of Arthur Douard. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover which has some scratches.

The watch measures 68mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case has rubbing and wear to the finish. 

The main face of the watch glass is in good condition about 3cm of the perimeter has chips underneath the lens. 

The enamel dial has sustained some damage and subsequent but old 'home' repair at 2, 7 and 10. Blued steel hands (pin-set), subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
