A wonderful quality cast iron Scottish stick stand manufactured by the ''Falkirk'' foundry in 1882.

The stick stand is in excellent original condition with no replacement parts - the steel has only been polished and lacquered to preserved its finish and surface.

A particularly good and decorative example.

''Workers from the nearby Carron foundry established the Falkirk foundry in 1819. The foundry was close to the Carron Company and Andrew McClaren and company on the Firth of Forth on the east coast of Scotland. They maintained warehouses and retailing premises on Upper Thames Street in London to which the seats and other cast iron products could be transported by sea and then up the river Thames. Falkirk published a catalogue with Carron in 1900 in which it offered decorative iron ranging from benches and urns to hallstands.''
