~~ Excellent condition ~~
A Stunning French gilt brass clock set by Louis Japy, beautiful, clean and bright original gilding.
To the side of the dial there are stylised flaming torches. Clock case is of waisted shape with fretted front, broken arch above the dial and sitting on a base with scroll feet. Pendulum can be seen through the fret work, swinging inside the case. Five light candelabra are conforming in style and are complete with snuffers.

The dial is enamel on copper, lettered with Roman numerals and red half-hour markers. It has a cast brass centre, convex glass and is complete with original blued steel hands.
The French movement is of the highest quality and has the L. P. Japy mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker; it has been completely dismantled, cleaned, serviced and two new springs fitted. The movement was then test run until we were satisfied of problem free running. Pendulum has been replaced. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. The video clip below shows the clock running and striking.

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The dial has some very slight chipping around the winding holes.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
