Gents 1950s Orator Chronograph Wristwatch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s Orator chronograph wrist watch.

The watch has a Landeron 288 hand-winding movement which is working well.

The watch measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and there is significant wear down to the gold coloured base metal. The snap on case back is stainless steel and there is a little pitting towards the edge.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a really good look to it. There are two subsidiary dials, one to record up to 30 minutes and the other for constant seconds. Original hour and minute hands, and black chrono hand. The chronograph feature is operated by pressing the top button to start, and the bottom button to stop and subsequently re-set to zero.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
