Description

This is a Victorian carriage footrest or fender stool dating to c.1880.

A superior example, canted for comfort, the mahogany frame and turned legs display an aged gilt finish with the stretcher reeded and boxed joints decorated with modest arced carving.

Professionally upholstered, the webbing is strong and in good order whilst the top has been recovered in high quality cloth trimmed with a deep blue velvet edge and finished in a complimentary brocade at the frame.

The top displays the most wonderful floral crewel work, exquisitely applied in a balanced design, bordered with plain cloth presenting a first class finish.

A fabulous piece of furniture, solid joints and in good order throughout delivered ready for the home.
