A Lady's Superb Fitted Dressing & Jewellery Box

Description

A very good 19th century LADY'S DRESSING & JEWELLERY CASE in superb and remarkably original condition.

The case itself is of burr walnut and opens to reveal the wonderful fitted interior with 12 silver-topped bottles and jars and two trays of original tools and implements which include two pairs of original scissors; scent corkscrew; silver thimble; and various MOP handled tools. Within the lid is a fine bevelled easel mirror, whilst in the base is the spring-loaded fitted jewellery drawer.

The quality of the silver is particularly good and heavy; hallmarked for London 1879
