Rare pair of late 19th.c. French open armchairs in their original upholstery c.1880. Beautiful solid rosewood frames with good carved detail to the arm supports and a pierced hand grip above the backrest. Shaped backrest, arms and sprung seat all retaining their original carpet fabric covers with a long tassel trim to the arms. Scallop shell detail to the front apron and carved front legs. Very good original and unrestored condition, with original castors and maker’s stamp to the underside of the seat.
