Description

A superb mahogany late 19th. early 20th.C. architectural style library bookcase. The architectural top outlined with applied mouldings above a dentil cornice with central carved patrae and further recessed mouldings. The 2 doors having 13 pane astragal glazing bars with good quality reeded brass strip, drop handle and working lock and keys. The interior having 4 mahogany (only 3 shown) faced adjustable shelves. The stiles having applied square and reeded columns with superb carved Corinthian capitals. The base section having a moulded top with 2 drawers below, both having moulded edges and retaining the original cast brass handles and again with working locks and keys. The 2 doors with fielded, figured mahogany panels, brass strip, brass handle and lock and key. The stiles again with applied square columns and the whole standing on a plinth base.
