Antique Silver Longines ¾ Plate Pocket Watch, 1884

Description

An antique Longines ¾ plate pocket watch, 1884.

The stem-winding movement is working nicely. It has the Longines logo on the regulator and it has the word ’click’ on the plate, which is a Longines feature for releasing the spring prior to any work being carried out. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1884 with a case maker’s mark for Arthur Bame & Co… as well as manufacturing watches, Baume & Co were also the importers for Longines watches. The front of the case is in good condition while the hinged case back has some unevenness.

The watch glass has a couple of light scratches but is very acceptable.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition. The hands are initially set by way of the pin-set mechanism.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
