Vintage 1920s Limit Stem Winding Pocket Watch

A vintage 1920s Limit pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Limit and is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The nickel case measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The front and sides of the watch are in good condition the back has some marking and some unevenness.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The watch has an enamel dial, signed Limit, Swiss Made. There is a faint hairline crack at the edge of the dial, between IIII and V, but it is barely visible to the naked eye. Other than that, the dial is in good condition with just a little discolouration around the centre. It has bold black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. The minute hand is a later replacement.

The watch comes with a nickel chain which measures 23.5cm long including the T-bar and the clasp... the bar and clasp would originally have been plated but most of this has worn off over the years.
