A pair of 19th Century bronzes by the French sculpture Louis- Marie Moris (1818-1883) Each bronze depicts two classical warriors in combat, the first scene is of a warrior seated on a rearing horse wearing a helmet and wielding a battle axe, the other on foot with a sword at his side, with his helmet and shield on the floor, the second scene is with both warriors wearing their helmets, with one warrior on his horse with no weapon whilst the other warrior is on foot wielding a battle axe, both scenes are on a naturalistic oval base and both are signed to one side MORIS. The bronzes are in excellent condition and are of a green patina.
