Set Antique English Sterling Silver and Mother of Pearl Fish Knives and Forks

Description

A fine set of late Victorian fish knives and forks, rather nice that they are sterling silver rather than the more often found silver plated sets. Each piece is individually hallmarked for Sheffield 1900, together with the makers initials for the silversmith, John Batt.

The handles are all made from carved and polished Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with it's magical irridescent qualities.

The come complete in their original Mahogany case (no key) lined in a rich red velvet. Superb condition, the case measures 10" x 7 1/4" x 2 1/4"; each knife measures 7 1/2" and each fork, 6 1/4".
