Description

A truly fine example of a pot pourri box made from a good hefty gauge of silver beautifully pierced or reticulated and standing on four elegant reticulated feet.

The hinged lid fits well and once opened reveals the original gilded interior. The top of the box is beautifully decorated with a shield cartouche to the centre, vacant for engraving by your silversmith should you wish. This is surrounded by a belt and buckle frame in a continuous circle.

The box is hallmarked for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1912, a true antique example. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, George Nathan and Ridley Hayes.

Superb undamaged condition measuring an impressive 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" tall.
