Description

Good pair of antique mahogany Gainsborough armchairs with the original leather upholstery, which is still in good condition & full of character. I must stress that the leather does look nicely aged & original, with various markings & some crazing, but there are no splits or tears. These chairs have hump backs, open swept over arms & sit on strong mahogany legs, with 'H' shaped stretchers. The leather is hand tacked onto the frame & the leather has been professionally revived & polished. These chairs are very comfortable & would look great in an office or maybe an entrance hall. I would date them to around the 1890-1910 period.
