19th C Travelling Pocket Sun Dial

Description

A 19th Century Yew Wood Cased Travelling Pocket Sun Dial.

The screw off, threaded lid, of ring and domed form, with attractive turnings, enclosing a domed glass, within which is a floating brass gnomer sun dial. The interior of the lid with tables for the months and corrections of sun time, against clock/land time. The sun dial body within a ring and spreading base.

Height 2 inches, diameter 3 1/4 inches.
