Exceptional Leather Armchair C.1890.

19th century
Description

Splendid late 19th.c. Renaissance style open armchair or desk chair c.1890. Walnut frame carved with grotesque masks above the backrest, turned and fluted uprights and stretchers. Retaining the original leather covers to the seat and backrest embossed with a neoclassical pattern with a lion’s mask and scrolling foliage within a dolphin border. Original oversized brass studs. Excellent original condition with only minor wear to the leather.
