Exquisite Louis Xv Rococo Style Bed and Matching Bedside.

Exquisite Louis XV style Rococo bed with very high quality paintings of nymphs and cherubs in the Louis Boucher style. Please see the close up images to appreciate the quality and see the details in the expressions and the beauty in the pearls. The base blue of the bed and bedside forms a delightful back drop to these paintings. This painting would have been done as an artistic commission when the bed was made c 1880. The foliate and rose details are believed to have been added c1900. The painting has been professionally cleaned and stabilized. The bed has been checked for well fitting joints and supports for a bed base secured. The bed currently takes a 145cm x 195 cm mattress internally. We can get mattresses made to this size. We could extend the side rails to take a 200 cms length mattress to enable a king size 150cm x 200 cm mattress to be used as the overall width would allow a 150cm width mattress.

The bedside has the same exquisite painting with a drawer over the cupboard which is marble lined. The top has amazingly got original marble in perfect condition.

The max width of the bed is 166cm; the current overall length is 208cm.

The bedside is 92cm high and 39.5cm wide and deep.

We have been sourcing and restoring antique beds and bedsides for twenty five years and have never seen such exquisite artistry; this bed should perhaps be categorised in the art section of the web site.
